Today’s candidates need to be adept at a wide range of presenting platforms:
- Live Events (Podium)
- On Camera (Zoom, Live Streaming)
- Radio
- Podcasts
- Telephone
- Television
Each platform has its own set of “best practices” and the result should be a seamless persona of the candidate; one overall tone and message that is comfortably delivered to any and all audiences.
For instance, in a podcast you can stop if you mis-speak and do it over until you get it just right. If you’re being interviewed live on radio, you don’t have that option. The same is true of speaking to a live audience, so obviously control of your message and your manner is vital.
You also need to know that before you can say a single word, your appearance is already sending out signals. Your styling choices include shoes, jewelry, hair, makeup (even men need to get “powdered down”) and clothing. All should be in accord with your professional beliefs about the position you’re running for.
Our newest program walks/talks you through the basics of preparing for each platform. We focus on the ‘packaging’ of your message and how to make it as engaging and memorable as possible.
